It's been a bit, sorry!

First I would like to talk to you all about what has been happening for the past couple weeks. Since we last talked I have seen:

  • Wicked

  • The King and I

  • Everybody’s Talking about Jamie

  • Lear’s Shadow By Colin Hurley

  • Much Ado About Nothing at the Globe presented by Rutgers University

And I have visited:

  • Camden Market

  • Canterbury

  • The White Cliffs of Dover

  • Leeds Castle

  • Victoria and Albert Museum

  • British Museum

  • Shakespeare’s Globe (again) haha

Although I have had so much fun especially since my mom came into town to visit. I was also sick for a while and dealing with grief. On February 13th, we unfortunately had to put my wonderful cat Butterscotch down. He lived a long and happy life of 17 years. He was my best friend and I miss him a lot but, I know that he is no longer in pain.

On another note, I celebrated my 24th birthday. I cannot believe that I am 24. This was the first year in a long time where I did not cry on my birthday. I honestly could not tell you why, but I think it might be because I feel like my life is heading in the right direction. Where that direction is going I have no idea, it just feels right.

As for my classes, it is almost the end of our second project, comedy of manners. You may be confused because in my last post we just finished our first project and now we are concluding our second, but that is because three weeks have passed. I am really enjoying my time in this section of the course. My professor is Dickon Tyrrell and he is a wonderful teacher. He has been very supportive throughout these weeks. On Thursday of this week we are performing our scene for all the other class sections. I am working with a student named Jackson (I know funny haha) and we are performing the Lady Bracknell and Ernest Worthing scene from The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. It is quite a famous scene which means that I feel I have a lot to live up too but, I am holding my own in my opinion. AND I get to perform the scene with a British accent. I am having so much fun! I will update you all next week on how our showing goes, but I think it will be great! I believe that I am really improving and adapting my skills quite well. I feel the main thing I have to attribute to my skills improving is my mental state and the support of the staff and students at LAMDA. Everyone here has been very supportive and kind. The last thing I would like to write about for this week is that I will be performing in a musical theater showcase here which is super cool! I am singing “Home” from Beauty and the Beast, which makes me happy because Belle is one of my dream roles. I hope I can get a video of it, but if not then I will write all about it next week. I think I need to start writing as the week goes along because there is so much that I want to share that I can no longer remember by the end of the week. Thanks for reading! Don’t forget to check out my vlog!

Moving Forward...

One week ago I completed my course with LAMDA. I had a wonderful time and honestly my friends/family are probably going to get sick of me...
